After break time, on May 14th 2014, Year 3, 5 and 6eme all grouped outside the Double Classroom. I did not know what exactly it was we were going to do but I was over the moon when I found out how we would go into the junior woods looking for mini-beasts.

I was with Emma (Year 3) and Victor (6eme). We headed as a group into the woods with our pooters (to collect bugs), our trays (to keep them in) and our clipboards (to write down what mini-beasts we found). The places we looked at most were under logs. Our finest catch was a centipede. We also found a leopard slug and another huge slug which we could not identify. We found 2 or 3 beetles: two black ones but one incredibly was BLUE!!! Woodlouse were popular and many people found them. The best catch by far was the 'Devil's Coach Horse Beetle' commonly known as the 'Devil's Coachman'.

We had a great time and everyone enjoyed it!
